This weekend was one for the books! I don't think it could of been more fun.
Friday night we were invited to one of my best friends house for a murder mystery party. I had never attended one before and had always wanted to experience one. Aubrey did not disappoint! She went all out and we had so much fun. She served dinner, dessert and wine and had the house decorated perfectly for the theme. Our characters were all italian so she set up the house like an italian restaurant and had so many fun details that made it a night to remember!
She had a picture of a random italian man in the picture with a card that said "Remembering PEPI" (The guy who died in our game). So clever!
Wine corks for place card holders, I love this idea
She used wine bottles a candle holders for the centerpieces
Poor Pepi! She made this stuffed murdered dummy and put it in the kitchen. Too funny!
Angel and her lover Bo Jalais
Look at these Italian Divas!
On Saturday we went to the opening day of the Farmers Market. I am so glad it is spring and that it is open again. Sawyer was highly entertained the entire time looking at all the people and all the dogs. After roaming around the market we went with all our friends to Hammontrees in Fayetteville. We sat outside in the gorgeous weather and ate some good food. It was the perfect way to spend a Saturday.
For Easter we went to church and then met all of our friends over at Mindy Blagg's house for a big Easter Brunch. Everyone brought something and we all ate SOO much! I took some brown sugar smokies and sausage bread (see bottom for recipe). We stayed over there almost all day and let the babies play and just sat around visiting. We are so thankful for our friends here and for friends that we can spend special holidays with.
It was a fun filled weekend and now we are gearing up for a big Birthday Week!! Many fun days ahead.
Here is the recipe for sausage bread. It is good for breakfast or with dinner. It is a heavy bread so it would be good along side a big salad or just some light veggies. Enjoy!
- one package, frozen bread dough (2 loaves)
- 1 pound bulk sausage (mild or spicy)
- 2 eggs beaten
- 8-ounce swiss cheese
- 8 ounce parmesan cheese
- 1 ts garlic salt
- 1 pound sauteed and sliced mushrooms
-Thaw bread dough (follow directions on package)
- Cook sausage and saute mushrooms. Chop and drain excess liquid
- Spread each loaf of bread dough on its own greased cookie sheet
- Mix sausage, beaten eggs, cheese, mushrooms and garlic together in a bowl.
- Spread 1/2 of the mixture on bread dough; press into dough. Do the same thing with the remaining mixture on the 2nd loaf.
-Fold each bread dough loaf over in thirds lengthwise then fold the ends up and seal tight.
- I wrap it and bake it in foil and then bake it at 375 degrees for 35-40 minutes.
This recipe is a great one for company because it freezes well and you can make it ahead of time and then bake it for breakfast if you have house guests.
