Well Sawyer and I had a fabulous weekend! We were sad that Andrew was leaving town for the weekend but as soon as I knew I was going to be a loner this weekend, I started planning away!

Friday night I had a few girls over and I cooked a big dinner, we drank wine and we had so much fun.

Thankfully, Mindy and Lyla spent the night with us that night because John David was out of town with Andrew. We woke up Saturday and watched Sawyer and Lyla play all morning. Our hearts melted all morning because of how Sawyer and Lyla were with each other. He really loves her and it was so cute to see them actually play together this time. Sawyer laughed at Lyla all weekend and Lyla followed Sawyer around the house. It was too cute!

That afternoon we went shopping at this fun flea market in Prarie Grove called Daisies and Olives. It's definitely a new fav!

Then Saturday night Mindy and I got babysitters and a few of us went out to eat at Greenhouse Grill here in Fayetteville. It was the best meal! If you live in this area you must go and try it out. It was nice to eat a nice dinner and get a break from Sawyer for one evening.

All in all it was such a good weekend at home even though we missed Andrew terribly. So glad he is home now!

For Girls Night dinner I made the Dill Chicken I posted a long time ago. With this meal I made some green beans that I have made now for a couple years and it's always a crowd pleaser.

Green Beans with Caramelized Onions

- 1 pound of FRESH Green beans (I buy the fresh beans in the produce section that are packaged to microwave and are already trimmed)
- 1 yellow onion thinly sliced
- 2 TB Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 1 TB butter
- 1 cup toasted almonds or 1 package of already toasted almonds found with the salad dressings and toppings.
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- Cut the onion into slices and then caramelize them with the butter and olive oil on medium heat.
- When the onions are a caramel color add the almonds and toast the almonds with the onions just for about 3-4 minutes stirring constantly.
- Cook the green beans and then once cooked add it to the onions and almonds and stir all together. Let it heat together for at least 5 minutes before serving.
- Add Salt and Pepper to taste before serving.
This goes great with the dill chicken. Enjoy!
