"THIS BOOK contains the mind of God, the state of man, the way of salvation, the doom of sinners and the happiness of believers.
Its doctrines are holy, its precepts are binding, its histories are true, and its decisions are immutable.
Read it to be wise, believe it to be safe and practice it to be holy.
It contains light to direct you, food to support you and comfort to cheer you.
It is the traveler's map, the pilgrim's staff, the pilot's compass, the soldier's sword and the Christian's character.
Here paradise is restored, heaven opened and the gates of hell disclosed.
Christ is its grand object, our good is its design and the glory of God its end.
It should fill the memory, rule the heart, and guide the feet.
Read it slowly, frequently, and prayerfully.
It is given you in life and will be opened in the judgment and will be remembered forever.
It involves the highest responsibility, will reward the greatest labour, and will condemn all who trifle with its sacred contents."

" The living and active word of God provides EVERYTHING necessary for life and Godliness" - Peter 1:3
Do you sometimes overlook these truths and get too busy for the word of God? I know I do! My prayer is that I will consistently have reverence for the word of God, that I won't be able to get through my day without the word of God sustaining me. God's promises are true and the minute I lay down my life and let Him teach me through His word, amazingly life gets more manageable and all of His promises are shown to be TRUE. Him and His word should be everything to me and so many days I neglect both of them.
Friends, keep me accountable to this!
What are you learning through the word of God right now? I would love to hear how God is changing lives...
