This is the final children's bedroom for the family in Kansas featured here and here.  I love how Katie completely represented each child's personality in the rooms and kept them from being childish yet they are totally child appropriate.

This room is for a pre-teen boy who loves running and studying scripture.  Both elements are beautifully incorporated into the room.

Katie came up with a chalkboard wall behind the bed.  He chose his favorite scriptures and they had someone come in and write them out in that beautiful script.  He can change them up as he grows.  The dark wall is also a gorgeous backdrop to the light upholstered bed and allows the lamps to pop.

The prints are by BiyoArt and incorporate his love of running.  Custom mats and frames.

The rug is by Jonathan Adler and all pillows are custom.  Bean bag chair is from Serena & Lily.

Lamps were a fun HomeGoods find.  Bed and nightstands owned by the client already.

The shelving unit came from Overstock.com.  Books were the boy's and accessories found at flea markets.

Loved sharing these children's rooms with you and how you can design a bedroom for the child, around the child but not isolate it from the rest of the home's style.  This room will transition as the boy continues through his teenage years and leaves room for personalization which is so important for young people!
