Lantern pendants are nothing new and can totally transform a space.  Changing out lighting can be relatively inexpensive and a total game changer for a room.  Loving the interest they bring.  Lanterns are everywhere and might I dare to suggest heading to your local Home Depot and buying one and a can of spray paint?  Colorful lanterns have my heart at the moment.

Let's not waste time with a dinky lantern either.  Go for it.

Brass is making a comeback.  That is another post for another day but you can't deny that this breakfast nook, if you can call this a nook, is nowhere near 1991.

This is a good traditional lantern.  Do you know how hard it is for me not to dissect each room and why I love it so much?  I'm keeping it focused on lanterns today but soak in the great ideas here.  Marinate in the good design.

I would find a way to entertain in this laundry room.

Unless you have tall ceilings it may be hard to use one in a bathroom but if you're lucky enough to have the height.... try it.

And this last image is competing with the first for favorites.  I must deviate from lanterns for a second and comment on the mirrored walls.  I have a tiny dining room with a chair rail and low ceilings like this room.  Do I dare replicate this with mirrors all around?!  High enough to keep the toddler fingers off... self antique...
